Connect with God
Connect with People
Welcome to citywestchurch.
At citywestchurch we are a big-hearted, diverse family made up of many ages, ethnicities and walks of life—brought together by our shared love for Jesus and for people. Our services are approximately 1.5 hours long, followed by a time to connect with others for morning tea. Our children's programmes are a fun, safe, faith-filled environment where children can learn about Jesus with others their age. See you on Sunday.

What We Believe
THE SCRIPTURES
The Bible is inspired by God and is the revelation of God to humanity.
SALVATION
We believe that a person’s only hope of salvation is through the atoning work of Jesus Christ who shed His blood on the cross that all may be saved.
GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT
We believe that the gifts of the Spirit continue to be experienced by the Church. They are given to empower the believer for life, ministry and witness.
DIVINE HEALING
Healing, health and wholeness for the whole person is provided for in the atoning work of Christ.
JUDGMENT
We believe that all will face a day of final judgment. The righteous will be judged for rewards at the judgment seat of Christ. The unbelievers will face eternal separation from God in hell.
THE ONE TRUE GOD
We believe that the one true God has revealed Himself as the creator of heaven and earth and the redeemer of all people. He has further revealed Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
SANCIFICATION
We believe that sanctification initially occurs at the time of salvation. In Christ we become a new creation, the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit.
ORDINANCES
We believe in baptism by immersion in water following salvation. We believe in Holy Communion, also known as The Lord’s Supper, consisting of bread and wine.
THE KINGDOM OF GOD
This Kingdom is already present, but is not yet fully realised. It is seen wherever God’s reign is extended.
THE NEW HEAVENS
AND THE NEW EARTH
We believe in the promise of a new heavens and a new earth, the eternal home of the righteous.
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ is one, but He has two natures, the human and the divine.
CHRISTIAN CHARACTER
We believe that a Christian is characterised by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
THE CHURCH AND MISSION
Every believer is an integral part of the universal Church and should find a place of connection and belonging in a local church and fulfill the Great Commission.
FAMILY
We honour the natural family by empowering parents and emparting into the lives of children. We also honour the family of God, caring for our brothers and sisters in Christ.
FOR MORE INFORMATION
THE FALL OF HUMANITY
We believe human beings were created good and upright, being made in the image of God. However, they became sinful by voluntary transgression of God’s command.
BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that all believers are entitled to, should eagerly expect and seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
CHRISTIAN MINISTRY
We believe that every member of the body of Christ is called to active service.
THE RETURN OF CHRIST
We believe in the physical and visible return of Christ. At this time those who have died believing in Christ will be resurrected.
