The Bible is central to our faith, guiding our beliefs, actions, and relationship with God. Let’s explore why valuing the Bible is essential, using Scripture to understand its significance in our lives. A citywestchurch we believe that all Scripture is God breathed and is the inspired, inerrant and infallible word of God for his people.

The Bible as God’s Inspired word

2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

The Bible is not just a collection of ancient texts; it is inspired by God and vital for our spiritual growth. It equips us to live out our faith effectively.

The Bible as a source of wisdom

Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

The Bible provides guidance and clarity in our daily lives. Just as a lamp light’s our way in darkness, God’s Word illuminates our decisions and directions.

The Bible Spiritually bring us nourishment

Matthew 4:4 “Jesus answered, ‘It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.

Just as we need physical food to sustain our bodies, we need the spiritual nourishment that comes from the Bible. It sustains our spiritual health and growth.

The Bible is transformative

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

The Bible has the power to transform us. It penetrates deep into our hearts, revealing our true selves and guiding us towards growth and change. Helping us to mature and being like Jesus

The Bible helps us to know God better

John 5:39 “These are the very Scriptures that testify about me.”

The Bible reveals the nature and work of Jesus Christ. By studying it, we come to know God more deeply and understand His plan for our lives.

Valuing the Bible means recognising its divine inspiration, its role in providing wisdom, nourishment, and transformation, and its importance in revealing God to us. Let’s commit to making Scripture a central part of our lives, allowing it to guide, nourish, and transform us.

Final Thought

As we treasure the Bible, we embrace the full richness of God’s guidance and love. Let’s honour it not just by reading it, but by living out its truths daily
